Syniah Gooden is a young creative and filmmaker. She always was drawn to the arts from a very young age. As a kid, she engaged in writing songs and little scripts as well as consuming a large amount of television and movies. In middle school, she started taking a proper interest in theater. She got to be part of the original cast of Ms. Martin's Malaise in #Enough: Plays to End Gun Violence (as Sam Gooden). Then in high school she had her fair share of performances on and offstage, with notable highlights being playing Emilia/Venus in the collaborative original show 'From Me to Me,' being Assistant Stage Manager for Dr. Phillips High School's production of Into the Woods, and performing in Mother Courage and Her Children with Dr. Phillips High School at the district and state level. As well as the stage, she also has a passion for film. She's made a few short film projects on her YouTube channel, a few of which have screened at her high school's film festival. She also participated twice with the only high school team in her city for the 48 Hour Film Festival. She's gotten various film festival nominations and has received an Honorable Nomination for Best Music Video at Dr. Phillips High School Film Fest IIX, won Best Music Video at Dr. Phillips High School Film Fest IX, and won Best Mobile Finalist at the 3rd HBCU First Look Film Festival. As she studies film production in college, she plans to pursue various more creative projects throughout her career.
