Matt Greig is an Australian visual effects supervisor at Rising Sun Pictures. A graduate of RMIT with a Bachelor of Technology, Greig began his professional trajectory in the mid-2000s as a digital compositor, steadily advancing through senior creative and supervisory roles at leading studios in Australia and New Zealand. Early in his career, Greig worked with Photon VFX and Fuel International before joining Animal Logic, contributing compositing work to productions including House of Wax (2005), King Kong (2005), Charlotte's Web (2006), World Trade Center (2006), The Marine (2006), See No Evil (2006), The Painted Veil (2006), The Condemned (2007), Rogue(2007), Death Defying Acts (2007), Fool's Gold (2008), The Black Balloon (2008), Australia (2008), and Knowing (2009). During this period, he progressed to lead and senior compositing positions. Greig moved into supervisory roles in the early 2010s, serving as compositing supervisor and lead compositor on large-scale productions at Fuel VFX and Animal Logic. His credits from this phase include Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol (2011), Sucker Punch (2011), The Avengers (2012), The Hunger Games: Catching Fire (2013), and Walking with Dinosaurs 3D (2013). He continued to build experience on features such as The Lego Movie (2014), The Rover (2014), Underworld: Blood Wars (2016), The Divergent Series: Allegiant (2016), Jungle (2017), Upgrade (2018), and A-X-L(2018). In 2019, Greig joined Rising Sun Pictures (RSP), where he has held successive leadership roles, including compositing supervisor, associate visual effects supervisor, and visual effects supervisor. At RSP, he has overseen both main-unit and second-unit element photography and supervised teams across complex feature projects, validating creative and technical output. His credits with the studio include Ford v Ferrari (2019), Mortal Kombat (2021), Jungle Cruise (2021), Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), Elvis (2022), White Noise (2022), Cocaine Bear (2023), The Fall Guy (2024), Thunderbolts (2025), and Wicked: For Good (2025). Greig shared the Best Achievement in Visual Effects prize at the St. Kilda Film Festival for Bad Moon Rising (2010), and received Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) Award nominations for Best Visual Effects or Animation for Ford v Ferrari (2019) and The Fall Guy (2024), both shared with his teams.
