1925-09-14 - 2003-03-14 | Rio de Janeiro , Brasil

Cyll Farney, stage name of Cilênio Dutra e Silva (Rio de Janeiro, September 14, 1925 - Rio de Janeiro, March 14, 2003) was a Brazilian actor. Cyll Farney was the brother of musician Dick Farney, who died in 1987. Farney worked briefly in television and even appeared in a few soap operas. In his later years, he dedicated himself to his own film production company. His last television appearance was in the miniseries Hilda Furacão, on Rede Globo. After retiring from acting in 1978, he remained in front of the camera, working as a producer on 14 films. Cyll remained active, managing his production company Tycoon (which leased its studios to Globo several times before the opening of Estúdios Globo in 1995), and a series of biographical documentaries focusing on names like Francisco Alves, Orlando Silva, and other greats of Brazilian music, reclaiming the memories of artists of his generation.
