A folk story about Zhou Chu appeared in the 430 book A New Account of the Tales of the World and proved to be very popular. One night, in order to save the children outside the city, Zhou Chu killed the white-fronted tiger demon, but unexpectedly, the tiger king (played by Chen Guokun) comes to people of Wu.
