Two women lead the funeral of Jinrye, matriarch of Korea’s longest-running family of Pansori masters with a history spanning 300 years. Her daughter, Chae-seon, is celebrated as the greatest master of our time and the guardian of the Pansori tradition, and the person standing beside her is the successor of the family heritage, So-ryeon, who dreams of a path that diverges from the family legacy.
